Boba Fett Conversion
By request, and because I got tired of emailing the same message over and over, here is the steps I used to create the Boba Fett figure shown on the previous page.
1 - I used bits from the new berzerker box and the 40k boxed set. You'll need a good hobby knife and a lot of patience.
2 - The most recognizable part of the figure is the head. Only one plastic model has a T-visor and that is one of the new berzerker heads. Just carve the head down until it looks right. This will take quite a bit of time but isn't that hard and you really can't mess it up. To make painting easier later, use the tip of the knife to etch grooves into the helmet wherever you want different colors.
3 - To finish off the head you'll need to take the helmet from the landspeeder driver (in boxed set) and remove the comm-link looking thing on the side of his head. Then just glue that on the head you carved up and you've got this part finished.
4 - The body was much easier. Take the most plain berzerker body in the sprue (it should be the only one without chains or or a bullet belt). Using your knife again, smooth off the trim and the symbol of khorne. Then cut the belt buckle in half so it looks like my model.
5 - The backpack was next, and even easier. Take a character backpack (one with the banner pole). Cut the pole off just above the ring and glue one of the missile tips available with the plastic space marines. If the missile doesn't connect really well, pin it.
6 - For the legs I just used a random set of space marine legs. Again look for the one with the least amount of detail as you'll want to remove most of it. File off any purity seals, emblems, etc. Glue a pouch to each leg (available on Space Marine Accessory Sprue).
7 - Now the arms. These are simple as well. Choose two fairly plain looking arms and glue them into place. Do not use the shoulder pads because it makes the model look wrong. Glue one of the sights (also on Accessory Sprue) to the left arm. Using left over sprue, cut out two boxes to go on each arm. Glue them on and you only have one thing left.
8 - The gun. Take a one of the Dark Eldar Splinter Rifles without blades on it. Use a saw or knife to remove the arm from it. Then just add the other gun sight to the top and glue the gun into place.
9 - Glue up the entire miniature and paint to taste. A lot of steps but nothing too difficult.
I hope this helps and contact me if you need more help.
